The time to pick up Grab-N-Go Meals have been extended!

The meals, which are provided at the Upper Sandusky Community Library for youth up to age 18, will be available from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The meals will not be available on December 24 or 31 as the library will be closed to observe Christmas and New Year’s.

Want to learn how to make a great cookie for Christmas? Sample Taste of the Town and find out for yourself.

Taste of the Town is a new adult cooking program hosted by the Upper Sandusky Community Library. This month, program leader Patti Davidson will teach you how to make Ethel’s sugar cookies – then you’ll get a chance to ice your own.

While you’re at it, compete in the Cookie Contest. Bring a dozen of your best cookies to be judged. You may submit up to two types of cookies. There will be Best Cookie prizes for first, second, and third place.

The book for January is Mary Had a Little Lamp by Jack Lechner and illustrated by Bob Staake. “Mary has a little lamp that she takes everywhere: to school, the movies, the circus, the zoo, even a wedding. One day Mary heads off to summer camp without her bendy-necked lamp and discovers that life without a lamp isn't so bad! In fact, when Mary returns home, her little lamp stays on her shelf for good. Did you get a new Kindle for Christmas and need help figuring out how to use it with your library card? Tech Connect is here to help!

Tech Connect is a new program at the Upper Sandusky Community Library where staff will assist library patrons with their technology questions every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Patrons should come prepared with their device (phone, tablet, laptop, etc.), a charge cord, and necessary usernames and passwords.

LEGO® Night

Builders, creators, and future architects, it is time to cheer – because LEGO® Night is back! LEGO® Night will make its return to the library at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, in the children’s section. Each week will feature a different challenge that builders can attempt.

LEGO® Night is a weekly program that occurs every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

What Can Your Health Department Do For You?

Join Wyandot County Public Health at 6 p.m. Jan. 12, in the Upper Sandusky Community Library’s large meeting room for a program that will educate attendees on all the ways the health department impacts the community.

Learn about the programs available to the community through the health department; meet staff members from the nursing, environmental, and administrative branches of the health department; and hear from a representative of the Wyandot County Health Board.

Common Readers: "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency"

If you have always wanted to join a book club, then start off 2022 by taking part in the Common Readers Book Discussion Group.

Common Readers will be reading “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency” by Alexander McCall Smith, a mystery centered around Botswana’s first and only lady detective. Copies of the book are available for checkout at the library in regular print, large print, and book on CD. The book is also available as an ebook and audiobook on Libby and as an audiobook on hoopla.
