COVID-19: Ask A Nurse

With regular changes, updates, and misinformation and misconceptions, it can be hard to keep track of all the latest rules, recommendations, and developments related to COVID-19.

Wyandot County Public Health is partnering with the Upper Sandusky Community Library to answer the community’s questions about COVID-19. The COVID-19: Ask A Nurse event at 6 p.m. Dec. 15 in the basement of the Upper Sandusky Community Library. It will be an open discussion that will discuss a range of topics related to COVID-19.

Make the perfect holiday decorations at Craft Party

Join Miss Rachel and spend an evening with fabulous makers just like yourself while you make the perfect decorations for the winter season.

There will be two featured crafts for the December Craft Party. Grab a friend and spend the evening making a Woodland Door Hangar from pinecones, reindeer moss, and ribbon to welcome your holiday visitors. Then use Christmas napkins to make wood slice ornaments for your tree or as a gift. It will be an evening of crafts, snacks, and fun. The Craft Party will be held in the large meeting room at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 9.

Close out the year with BookTalk

If you have been itching to talk about the books you read, then join fellow readers for BookTalk on the first Thursday of each month.

BookTalk, everyone’s favorite sharing time for readers, will meet at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 2. Join group discussion leader Krystal Smalley for a casual talk about books. No matter the subject or genre, all readers are welcome to talk about anything book related.

Thanksgiving holiday hours for USCL

The Upper Sandusky Community Library will have different hours for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The library will close early on Wednesday, November 24 at 6:00 p.m. and will remain closed on Thursday, November 25, 2021, to observe Thanksgiving. The library will return to its regular business hours on Friday, November 26.

Take a hike for StoryWalk® Week

Help celebrate the fun of reading and walking during StoryWalk® Week!

StoryWalk® Week will take place November 15-19. Come to the Upper Sandusky Community Library to pick up a Coded StoryWalk® worksheet and read this month’s book, The Best Thanksgiving Ever! As you walk from business to business, each page will be marked with a letter that should be written on the worksheet. When you finish the story, you will have spelled out a special message. Make sure to return to the library to receive a special prize and a to-go craft.

Make a Gingerbread House with Miss Jill

Start the holiday season out in the sweetest way possible with Miss Jill’s Gingerbread House Workshop!

Children will receive a cardboard house frame and frosting to help construct their gingerbread house. Make sure to bring graham crackers and candy to decorate the house. Space is limited and registration is required. Sign your child up now for one of the following workshops: Monday, November 29 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. or Tuesday, November 30 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. or 4:30-6:30 p.m. Registration begins on Monday, November 15.

Bring brunch dish or dessert bar to Lunch Bunch

Got lunch plans? Then join Cheryl Lyon for What’s Cookin’: Lunch Bunch on Monday, November 15!

Lunch-goers should bring their favorite brunch item or dessert bar to the noon edition of What’s Cookin’: Lunch Bunch to share with everyone. Then get ready to discuss cooking, baking, recipes, and more. Make sure to bring your own beverage to quench your thirst.

This year’s What’s Cookin’ schedule is as follows: November 15 (brunch and dessert bar) and December 13 (potluck and gift exchange).
