The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Wyandot County is thrilled to announce, "Wyandot Give Back," a free and open-to-the-public event aimed at recruiting passionate individuals interested in giving back to the community.
The event will take place from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 29 in the Upper Sandusky Community Library’s large meeting room. This event offers an exciting opportunity for individuals to join RSVP in making a positive impact in Wyandot County.
Wyandot Give Back is more than just a volunteer recruitment night; it's a chance for the community to come together, connect, and contribute to meaningful causes.
Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about various volunteering opportunities available in our community
- Connect with representatives from different organizations and causes
- Participate in engaging discussions on community engagement
- Network with like-minded individuals who share a passion for giving back.
"We typically meet with individuals one on one to talk about the many volunteer opportunities here in Wyandot County, but this is a chance for folks to meet directly with our partners where they will be doing the serving,” said RSVP program coordinator Ariel Nearhood.
RSVP, or the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, is a program of AmeriCorps Seniors, a national volunteer movement for those over the age of 55. Locally in Wyandot County RSVP senior volunteers serve in multiple capacities based on the interest and schedules of the volunteers themselves.
“Some of our volunteers serve in our local food pantries, some do special projects, some choose to volunteer as mentors to students, and provide companionship but they all make a difference,” said Nearhood. “Wyandot Give Back will allow others to join us on our crusade in doing good.”
Wyandot Give Back is free to attend and open to the public. Nearhood also mentioned that there will be free refreshments to those who attend.
