What's Cookin' travels around the world

The What’s Cookin’ Cookbook Discussion Group is going on a culinary trip at its February meeting.

What’s Cookin’ World Cuisine will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24 2020. Participants will travel around the world food-style by bringing in their favorite world cuisine dish to the potluck meal. Need ideas? Stop by and get inspired with our cookbook collection.

If you enjoy cooking, trying new things, and meeting people, then What’s Cookin’ is for you. This group of casual cooking enthusiasts celebrates a different themed potluck meal each month. All service ware and drinks are provided; you simply need to bring a dish to share. After the meal, join in lively discussion about the month’s theme and recipes.

What’s Cookin’ has been meeting since 2013 on a monthly basis to discuss food and cookbooks, and to share in a themed potluck meal. Cheryl Lyon is the coordinator of the group and leads the meetings. Her goal is to provide interesting speakers and demonstrations of cooking methods, and to share relevant information and fun facts about cooking.

The 2020 What’s Cookin’ schedule is as follows: February 24 (world cuisine); March 23 (comfort food); April 27 (favorite dish named after a city); May 18 (tea party); June 22 (annual picnic); July 27 (main dish, side dish, or dessert salad); August 24 (recipe that you’ve always wanted to try); September 28 (Crock-Pot side dish, main dish, or dessert); October 26 (favorite tailgate dish); November 16 (favorite brunch dish); and December 14 (annual holiday potluck).
