Get your family outside to stretch their legs and read a book at the same time with StoryWalk®.

For May, Miss Jill has selected a book that should appeal to both students and teachers. Last Day Blues, by Julie Danneberg and illustrated by Judy Love, shows what happens when the school year winds down. “It's the last week of school, and Mrs. Hartwell's class is excited to leave for summer vacation. The only problem is that the kids don't want their teacher to miss them while they're gone. Once again Julie Danneberg and Judy Love bring to life the crazy antics of Mrs. Hartwell and her class and show that teachers and students are more alike than different.”

The StoryWalk® begins at the Upper Sandusky Community Library and continues in the windows of the following businesses: A Cut Above, Corner Inn, SURGE, Neumeister’s Candy Shoppe, Fay Family Dental Care, A.J.’s Heavenly Pizza, Johnson Orthodontics, The Barber Shop, Community First Bank, First Citizens National Bank, American Family Insurance, Richardson Flower, Upper Fire Systems, and Woods’ Antiques N More.

StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children – and adults – to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. A StoryWalk® is a book that has been taken apart and presented page by page on a trail, bike path, or in store windows to promote reading and exercise. StoryWalk® was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library. Miss Jill and the Upper Sandusky Community Library initially brought the concept to the community in July and have presented a new StoryWalk® each month.
